Nous sommes heureux de confirmer que l’Institut St Dominique a été sélectionné parmi les nombreuses candidatures nationales pour un nouveau projet ERASMUS+ de 3ans.

Ce projet intitulé "Art nouveau-Art Renouveau" réunira six établissements européens de 2014 à 2017 :

Le lancement du projet a débuté en octobre 2014 à travers un concours pour le logo officiel du projet. Les élèves de l’ensemble des partenaires ont pris part à la compétition.

A l'issue des délibérations, les élèves de Cantacuzino en Roumanie ont obtenu la première place.

Mobilité élèves 1 - Wellington School (Ecosse) - juin 2015
"This summer, a group of 10 pupils joined the Erasmus + Project and went to Scotland to meet the other countries which are involved in the project. There are six countries: Scotland, Germany, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Romania and France. 60 pupils coming from these places shared a school room during a week and learned a lot about Art Nouveau and different cultures. This trip was an incredible way to meet other people who think differently, live and talk differently. Although there were a lot of people who couldn't speak the others’ languages, we all shared a wonderful time and we came back to our own countries amazed by the wealth of the different cultures and people we met, but also by the beauty of Scotland landscapes and the Art Nouveau motives and buildings we saw during the trips and visits. This incredible experience will go on the 6th of September but this time, the 60 new Erasmus protagonists will be on a flight to Romania! More news after they come back on the 12th of September 2015!"

"Cet été, un groupe de 10 élèves a rejoint le projet Erasmus + et est allé en Ecosse pour rencontrer les autres pays concernés par le projet. Il y a en tout six pays : l'Ecosse, l'Allemagne, la Bulgarie, la Slovénie, la Roumanie et la France. 60 élèves venant de ces pays ont partagé une salle et une semaine et ont beaucoup appris sur l'Art Nouveau et les différentes cultures. Le voyage était une façon incroyable de rencontrer d'autres gens qui pensaient différemment, parlaient et vivaient différemment. Bien que beaucoup de participants ne parlaient pas les langues des autres, nous avons partagé un merveilleux moment et nous sommes rentrés chacun chez nous impressionnés par la richesse des cultures et des gens que nous avons rencontrés, mais aussi par la beauté des paysages écossais et des objets et bâtiments du style Art Nouveau que nous avons découverts durant les visites.
Cette expérience incroyable recommencera le 6 Septembre, mais cette fois-ci les 60 nouveaux protagonistes Erasmus prendront l'avion pour la Roumanie !

Mobilité élèves 2 - Coleguial National C.Cantacuzino (Roumanie) - septembre 2015
"Targoviste était la capitale de la Roumanie au 15ème et 16ème siècles.
Targoviste veut dire vieux marché pas seulement en roumain, mais aussi en bulgare, en serbe et en slovène.
Bien que Targoviste soit une ville magnifique, c’est visiblement très pauvre et quelques bâtiments sont délabrés.
Plusieurs constructions sont décorées dans le style art nouveau, par exemple, des colonnes, des toits, des portes et des fenêtres.
La tour symbolique de la Roumanie vient de Targoviste et est appelé la tour Chindia.
Cette tour a été construite par Vlad Dracula qui était le rol’époque. Il ne buvait pas vraiment le sang de ses victimes mais il les décapitait. C’était un homme horrible.
La mairie que nous avons visitée et où nous avons rencontré le maire, est décorée dans le style art nouveau. La façade de ce magnifique bâtiment est détériorée et a besoin de réparations. Nous avons remarqué que la plupart des bâtiments sont dans le même état.
La situation économique en Roumanie est difficile. Evidemment, les frais de réparation sont très chers.
Nous sommes très heureuses d’avoir pu découvrir cette ville et ses traditions."

Mobilité élèves 3 - St Stanislav’s Institution (Slovénie) - janvier 2016
The Erasmus Program program offers the students the opportunity to travel abroad. Their goal is to give them the chance to improve their knowledge by travelling and discovering new cultures around the wolrd. Whilst in Slovenia, between the 17th and 23rd January, we discovered hox they saw the « Art nouveau style » in their environment. We were in Ljubjana, near the capital of Slovenia. We had the opportunity to work in partnership with the students of Saint Stanislav’ Institution.
About the different activities in which we participated, we learnt how to epress ourselves through varouis medias : computers « graphix designs », microscoping, drawing and few others. We also visited many places in Ljubjana where « Art nouveau style » was represented but for most of us, the best moment of the week was the visit of Piran, a little part of heaven in Slovenia : stunning seaside, beautiful landscapes… We nicknamed it « the little Italia ».
For some of us, it was our second participation with the Erasmus project, and to be totally honest it was a real pleasure for us to meet these people, and to discover what was the Slovenian’s culture. The Erasmus project has been a real good experience for us, we actually didn’t want to come home !

Mobilité élèves 4 - EmilyanStanev, Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgarie) - avril 2016
« Il est toujours difficile de passer après de très bonnes prestations. En effet, que ce soit l’Ecosse, la Roumanie ou bien la Slovénie, toutes les écoles ont jusque-là organisé des séjours de grande qualité. Ce mois d’avril 2016, le tour est venu à la Emiliyan Stanev School de Bulgarie d’organiser une mobilité à Veliko Tarnovo, capitale du Second Royaume Bulgare du XIIe au XIVe Siècle, par l’intermédiaire du projet Erasmus+.
Ce programme, qui a lieu de 2014 à 2017, s’intitule « Art Nouveau-Art Renouveau ». Or qui dit art dit d’abord activités manuelles, et c’est pour cette raison que notre semaine fut rythmée par de nombreux ateliers. Entre peinture sur bijoux, sur miroirs, design sur lampes, design graphique sur ordinateur…. Notre semaine fut bien mouvementée ! Et tout cela en respectant notre sujet initial.
Toutefois, le projet n’induisant pas seulement la création personnelle, l’accent fut mis sur la culture artistique, notamment par le voyage d’une journée à Russe (prononcé Roucé), ville historique de Bulgarie, avec bien sûr son architecture Art nouveau et ses somptueux monastères creusés dans la roche au milieu d’une nature sauvage et majestueuse.
Néanmoins, l’un des buts premiers de ce projet est le contact inter-écoles, qui fut d’ailleurs loin d’être délaissé par tous les élèves participant à cette mobilité !
Nous avons été très bien accueillis par les familles bulgares, et le contact est très bien passé même si certains parents ne parlaient pas anglais. Pour la plupart, des liens très forts se sont créés entre les étudiants et même jusqu’aux professeurs, grâce au mélange de nationalité favorisé par les activités.
Autant sur le plan culturel, qu’humain, voire même culinaire, le voyage en Bulgarie fut plein de surprises et de découvertes pour les dix élèves choisis de St Dominique. C’est un pays peu visité qui mériterait pourtant un plus grand intérêt tant pour ses belles villes, son héritage historique que pour ses traditions et son peuple chaleureux.
Il est toujours difficile de passer après de très bonnes prestations, disions-nous en début d’article. Il est vrai qu’il ne sera pas tâche simple pour notre école d’arriver, en Septembre 2016, à la hauteur des mobilités précédentes. Mais les coordinateurs de ce projet, Mme Norris, Mme Lambré et M.Noppe, ainsi que tous les adultes et élèves volontaires pour participer à cette mobilité en feront surement une semaine inoubliable. Nous sommes tous impatients ! »

A challenge, at the beginning of this Erasmus mobility. And what a challenge!
As we can contemplate all the amazing works of art on display this evening,
I believe that we are blessed; for genuine artists have reached Mortefontaine.
The Erasmus magic wand has shown its many talented twists:
Positive energy, friendship, inspiration…creation of course.
We all know there is no magic wand without good spirits……
So please, come forward…

Mobilité élèves 6 - Mallinckrodt Gymnasium, Dortmund (Allemagne) - avril 2017
A cosmopolitan atmosphere
During the week in Dortmund for the Erasmus project, we had the chance to discover new people from different countries. It’s really enriching and interesting to talk to them because you can realize that even if we live in the same continent, our cultures and lifestyles differ. But despite these differences, we can learn a lot from each over and see how these students live in their countries. This Erasmus project has included 6 countries: France, Germany, Scotland, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia. Even if our cultures are contrasting, we really think that it’s a good opportunity to open our minds, learn more about them, and also create new friendships from all over the world. During the workshops, you see how students work and their facilities. Then you can share and hear about their approaches in order to improve your skills in art, and in return we do the same. Sometimes if your family has the possibility to host several students, you have the opportunity to share your bedroom and the different activities with someone from another country. It’s really interesting to see how people live in their house; you learn from their countries and learn more about everything in their state: from the recipes to the way they dress. Of course sometimes it’s a bit difficult because the students do things which look strange for you, but it’s always funny to make new findings. Thanks to this kind of exchange, you rediscover the European Union in a different point of view, and then it’s a good way to take interest in the world issues and to have unbiased points of view.
